AS A TEMPORARY CHEF, you will be required to bring your own safety shoes, chef's whites, and knives to ALL assignments. We will inspect these on your initial registration to ensure they match the required standard. If you don’t have any of these, please just let us know before the registration and we can advise you on the best place to purchase them prior to starting work.
BEFORE WORKING FOR US – all chefs are required to attend a registration process. This allows us to physically check uniform, shoes, and knives, we clear all for UKBA and explain the requirements and responsibilities involved in being a temp chef.
ALL ARE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE us with copies of Food Safety and Health and Safety certificates and in the absence of these they undergo presentations and exams on both – these have been audited and deemed in line with current UK level 2 standards. At least 2 UK references must be provided, and these are checked in advance of placing chefs in any bookings.
We go through all previous experiences and create a profile reflective of their skill set, preferences, and abilities. When the bookings are then placed, we can match the right people to the jobs – it is not a random allocation based on availability and shift times, but a considered allocation based on your specific needs.
Registrations are given on an appointment basis only and will last up to 1.5hrs – during this time we will explain in detail exactly how the agency works; have you fill out the required paperwork and assess your experience and qualifications. Once registered – you will be ready for an immediate start.
We offer work to all levels of chef from Commis to Head Chef. We will ask for your availability each week and fill your days accordingly – you can work as many or as few days as you like. We will also note any preferences you have in terms of style and location. But please be aware - the more available and flexible you are – the more work we can offer.
We offer competitive pay rates depending on the client/role and you will be informed of the exact rate prior to your shift.
You will be paid each week on a Friday directly into your bank account and we can assist you in opening an account should you not yet have one!

IF YOU ARE A KITCHEN PORTER LOOKING TO TEMPORARY WORK
When recruiting Kitchen Porters, we look for enthusiastic people with a great work ethic, keen to get stuck into one of the most demanding roles of the kitchen and have a high level of reliability. While experience is preferred for this role it is not essential. In the cases where we register people who display the right attitude but have no practical experience, they are sent out to one of our partners to engage in a 4-hour trial/training shift, so we can gain feedback on performance and attitude. If this is successful, we can then place them in bookings. For those with experience – a UK reference must be provided and is checked before booking them in.
All kitchen porters must provide their own metal-toe safety shoes and will present on each shift with these as well as kitchen trousers and a black t-shirt – ready to work.
As a temp KP, we are looking for candidates with a great work ethic, reliability and a willingness to work in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience is beneficial but not essential as we complete a full registration and training prior to your first assignment.
