Qigong is a Chinese system of movement that has been around for a very long time. If you have ever seen clips of the Chinese practising together in the local park early in the morning it is quite likely to be Qigong. You will have had a sense of the meditative quality of the movements.

It looks like Tai Chi but it isn’t. Tai Chi is a martial art. Many Tai Chi instructors use Qigong in their classes as a preparation for the main practice. Qigong is for health and vitality.

It reduces tension and stiffness and is energising and relaxing. Although it is a gentle form of exercise it is a complete workout involving the whole body. It is a complete system for improving health and well being.

The practice involves a repeated series of smooth flowing movements, all done standing. Very often there is music in the class. Usually there will be a short relaxation before or after the movements.

Feel free to come along to one of the classes, workshops or weekends and join in!
